  • Identify suppliers of a variety of equipment, technology, and services willing to provide capacity development and technology resources to women-owned agripreneurs for their business development, efficiency, and expansion plans.
  • Carry out an ecosystem analysis to understand the challenges and threats faced by women agripreneurs in accessing productive resources such as finance, land, technical advisories, technology, and markets.

Objectives

AGRA's VALUE4HER initiative is a continental program that aims to strengthen women-led agribusinesses in Africa. Recognizing that women contribute up to 56% of agricultural labor in the region, AGRA seeks to bridge the gender gap in agricultural productivity and business performance.

This initiative will empower women agripreneurs by providing access to high-value markets, finance, investments, and capacity-building resources. The initiative targets women-owned agribusinesses in Malawi, Rwanda, Mozambique, Ghana, Nigeria, Uganda, Kenya, Burkina Faso, Mali, and Tanzania, equipping them to overcome barriers and contribute equitably to Africa’s agricultural transformation.

Value4Her is supported by a platform called Value4HerConnect, which facilitates the growth and development of women agribusinesses through four proven resources for growth, including

  • Women’s socio-capital for advocacy  and networking
  • Access to growth markets
  • Access to business capital
  • Access to relevant, quality business information and knowledge resources

By 2030, VALUE4HER aims to reach 100,000 women agribusinesses across Africa, reducing the gender gap by 50% and driving inclusive growth in the agricultural sector.
