Equip supported Land O’Lakes International Development under the USAID-funded Cooperative Development Program 4 (CD4), which aimed to strengthen the competitiveness of cooperatives in Malawi, particularly in the dairy and macadamia sectors. The program focused on improving cooperative performance through technical assistance, collaborative learning, and enhancing the environment in which cooperatives operate.
Equip conducted an in-depth assessment of existing cooperative performance tools to determine their suitability for the Malawian context. Additionally, EQUIP provided recommendations for harmonizing the tools and proposed performance criteria that promoted youth and gender inclusion in cooperative structures and operations
Conducted stakeholder consultations on cooperative assessment tools in Malawi with 8 key stakeholders working with cooperatives in Malawi.
Assessed 8 Cooperative Assessment Tools in Malawi.
Produced a report on Cooperative Harmonization Tools for Malawi, which was submitted to Land O Lakes
